Community Connections Family & Teen Volunteer Day

Please join us on Sunday, June 1 at the JFS Capitol Hill Campus for two volunteering sessions to celebrate the upcoming holiday of Shavuot. Learn about the mitzvah of giving as well as take a deeper dive into how our Polack Food Bank works. Together, we’ll package food, create cards, snack on holiday treats, enjoy a special reading from PJ Library, and engage in other hands-on activities – all while exploring values that guide our work.

Family Session (10 – 11:30 a.m.)

This session will be geared towards elementary-aged kids (ages 4-8) and their caregivers. Younger and older siblings are welcome to attend as well.  Special thank you to our partners at PJ Library for sponsoring the family session! RSVP for the family session here.

Teen Session (12:30 – 2 p.m.)

This session is for teens only and will be geared towards high school students in 8th through 12th grade. Noshes will be provided. Teens will be working in the food bank space, so registration is limited to 10—so sign up early! RSVP for the teen session here.

All are welcome to attend – no previous knowledge of Judaism is needed to participate.
We look forward to seeing your family there!
